Peter Schmitz & Rotimi Agbabiaka

Two artists, Rotimi Agbabiaka (CA) and Peter Schmitz (MA), working in the medium of theater as performers, writers, director/choreographers, “Zoom met” in mid-June and Zoom-talked once a week, which easily moved into Zoom 2 hour rehearsals once a week.  "Where Do You Want To Go" is a 25ish minute piece of performance emerging form from their talks of books, pandemics, gay pride, “Tom and the Water Babies", centaurs, restlessness, and, most importantly, perception. It’s a Zoom window into the perspectives of two people grappling with the meaning and meaninglessness of life in lockdown.


Peter B. Schmitz has been engaged in the creative and performing arts for over 30 years. As a professional dancer, Peter has performed in the companies of: Ann Carlson, Terry Creach (Creach and Co.),Yanira Castro (acanary torsi), Cliff Keuter, Wendy Woodson among others. He has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, New Zealand and Turkey. His choreographic work has been selected for various grant supports: New England Foundation for the Arts, Vermont Cultural Council, Paul Taylor Choreography Award. He was a Bessie nominee for Best Performer in 2013. As a professional actor Peter has performed in numerous venues in New York City, many regional theaters. He has worked with various theater companies: Potomac Theater Project, Medicine Show, New Stage Theater as a performer as well as stage designer, His performance in dance video 'Trout' was awarded best performance and he was nominated in 2013 and 2015 for acting at the New York Fringe Festival.

Rotimi Agbabiaka uses humor, glamor, and drama to upset the status quo, most recently originating roles in House of Joy (California Shakespeare Theatre) and If Pretty Hurts Ugly Must Be a Muhfucka (Playwrights Horizons, NYC). Other acting credits include Tom Waits’ Black Rider (Shotgun Players), Bootycandy (Brava Theater, Theatre Bay Area award), originating the title role in runboyrun (Magic Theatre), and several shows with the Tony Award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe. Rotimi penned the plays Type/Caste (Theatre Bay Area award), MANIFESTO, and Seeing Red; teaches performance to students from pre-school through college; and has graced nightlife stages around the world (as alter ego Miss Cleo Patois).
